Additional specialisation

Mortex bathrooms

Mortex gives your bathroom a calm, seamless appearance. On walls, floors or in the shower, the texture and finish shape the character of the room.

A beautiful finish starts with careful preparation.

We assess the stability and flatness of the substrate, existing coverings and junctions before proposing a finish.

In a shower, corners, drainage and penetrations require particular care. The substrate, waterproofing, finishing layers and protection must work as a complete system, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

We discuss colour, texture, the surfaces you want finished and the maintenance suited to the chosen protection. Mortex is an additional specialisation alongside our building envelope work.

What we pay attention to

Walls

A continuous finish with a subtle texture, suited to the existing substrate and the desired appearance.

Floors

Attention to flatness, substrate movement and junctions with walls and the shower.

Showers

A carefully planned build-up in wet areas, with correct connections to the drain and sanitary fittings.

Discover how we work

From substrate to finished bathroom.

The appearance is immediately visible. The work beneath it matters just as much. Here is how a Mortex finish is built up.

Check and prepare the substrate

We check that the substrate is stable, flat, clean and suitable. Loose material is removed and uneven areas addressed. Preparation and primer are then selected for the existing substrate.

In the shower we also assess waterproofing and connections at corners, drainage and pipes. A beautiful finish cannot resolve a faulty substrate.

Apply Mortex and work the texture

The material is applied by trowel in the specified layers. Corners and junctions are finished carefully and the hand-worked texture is suited to the desired result.

Specified drying times are respected between operations. Layer count and thickness depend on the chosen system, not just its appearance.

Finish and protect

After drying, the surface is finished according to the system and sanded and cleaned where required. Protection suited to the wall, floor or wet area is then applied.

The protection and correct connections matter for use and maintenance. The bathroom is only used after the required curing time.

Check the result and discuss maintenance

We assess the finish and connections around sanitary fittings, the floor and shower. Subtle variations from the hand finishing give the bathroom its individual character.

You receive cleaning advice suited to the chosen protection. Use appropriate products and avoid aggressive cleaners that can damage it.

The exact build-up and drying times depend on the substrate, application and manufacturer’s instructions. The images illustrate the stages, not a single actual project. Illustrative images, not actual client projects.
